The Wales-wide lockdown has now been brought forward to Sunday 20th December 2020. Wales is now on “level four” and as such Leisure Centres, Swimming Pools and Gyms are all closed with immediate effect.
As all staff will be placed on furlough, we will deal with any due refunds for swimming lessons, monthly memberships etc when we return to work.
We anticipate this will not be until at least the 18th January, which depends on further First Welsh Minister announcements. We will continue to follow rules and guidance from the Welsh Government.
On behalf of all the Management, Staff and Trustees, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and implore you all to stay safe.
We look forward to welcoming you all back sometime in the New Year.
Apologies for the late notice but Aqua Aerobics 8.15am, 9.15am and Easyline 10.15am are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
As you will no doubt be aware, we are having to close again in line with the announcement made earlier this week by the First Welsh Minister, Mark Drakeford.
We will be closing our doors at 6pm Friday 23rd October and reopening for business as usual on Monday 9th November.
Whilst we do of course understand the reasoning behind this decision, we can’t help but feel it is such a shame as we know we have done everything possible to make Holywell Leisure Centre a clean, safe environment for people to come back to following the first lockdown and we appreciate your continued support more than you will ever know.
You can be sure that upon our reopening in November, we will continue to strive to keep the Centre, thus all our customers and staff as safe as possible with our ongoing strict Covid-19 safety procedures.
We realise many of you will have questions and queries and would ask that you please email these to the following address;
services@holywellleisurecentre.com
Unfortunately, there will be nobody available during the closure to answer any queries, but upon our return to work from 9th November onwards, these emails will be picked up and rest assured you will receive a response to your enquiry although this may take some time (dependent upon the number we receive) so we would ask that you please bear with us.
Throughout our closure, please ONLY submit enquiries via the above email address NOT social media.
We have already received a number of emails from customers advising they would like their direct debits to remain in situ during our two week closure as they wish to support the Leisure Centre and for these we are extremely grateful and cannot thank you enough.
However, we do realise not everybody is in the position of being able to afford to do this and we completely understand, therefore, if you would like to receive a refund for the two weeks we have to close, please email your request to the above address and, as mentioned, this will be dealt with upon our return to work.
For those of you with children currently in swimming lessons, you should have been given a slip explaining the procedure we will be following with regards the payment you have already made so you need take no further action. Lessons will recommence week beginning Monday 9th November.
Likewise, classes, swimming (lane and household) sessions and block bookings will recommence as normal upon our reopening.
All that remains is for us to thank you once again for your continued support during this incredibly difficult time for everyone.
We urge you to all keep safe and well and we look forward to welcoming you back from 9th November onwards.
THANK YOU
ALL THE TEAM AT HOLYWELL LEISURE CENTRE

SWIMMING LESSONS AT HOLYWELL LEISURE CENTRE
PLEASE RING 01352 355100/355006 TO BOOK YOUR CHILD’S PLACE
A text has been sent to all parents/guardians of children for whom we are currently holding a space in our Waves 2, 3, 4, 5/6 and Link Group Swimming Lessons.
This applies to those who pay for their swimming lessons in full and those who pay by direct debit and whose direct debit instruction remains frozen (i.e. has not been cancelled before, during or after lockdown).
As you will be aware, we have not yet restarted our mainstream lessons, we hope to do so around mid October, although their structure will no doubt have to change. The extent of the changes we will be required to make will depend on the advice and guidelines received at that time from both Welsh Government and Swim Wales and will always be subject to change where required.
In the meantime, we would like to provide a NEW SHORT COURSE of lessons for the following Waves; 2, 3, 4, 5/6 and Link but of course, numbers will have to be restricted, therefore these can only be offered literally on a “first come, first served” basis.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide lessons at this stage for Splash, Wave 1, Rookies nor Water Polo.
A text message regarding this short course has been sent at the same time to everybody who has a child currently in the appropriate “Wave” and who has provided us with a mobile number so there should be no unfair advantages regarding booking a place. You can book your child’s place for any day and any time available as this course is not part of the mainstream lessons.
This short course of lessons will run for four weeks starting Monday 21st September – Sunday 18th October inclusive.
You will be allocated a day and time and will attend that session for the four weeks.
This short course is completely independent of our usual lessons.
The cost for the course will be £24 payable at the time of booking regardless of whether your normal payment is made by Direct Debit (which of course remain frozen) or you have already paid in full for the course which started in March 2020.
Any due adjustments to payments made prior to lockdown either in full or by direct debit will be dealt with individually when our next regular course of lessons starts, hopefully mid-October.
Please ring 01352 355100 / 355006 in order to book a place for your child.
WE WILL BE UNABLE TO BOOK A PLACE FOR YOU IF YOU LEAVE A MESSAGE ON THE ANSWERING SERVICE.
You will need to speak with us. We anticipate the phone lines may be quite busy during these times so would advise you to keep trying.
If the answering service clicks in without ringing, it means we are on another call.
Please read the below Terms and Conditions before committing to booking and paying for a place for your child to ensure you are happy to comply with our requirements;
Payment in full of £24 must be made at time of booking. This cost will be adjusted if you start at a later date (e.g. week 2).
When your child is dry and dressed, you will both exit the building again through the Swimming Pool fire exit
We look forward to welcoming you back.
We start this post with an apology.
As previously stated in our FAQs that swimming lessons would be able to recommence on 14th September and we would be in touch with further information, unfortunately, this is now not the case. You may have probably already realised this as you have received no contact in this regard.
Due to some unforeseen issues, we are having to delay the start date of swimming lessons a little longer.
We can only apologise for the further delay and hope you will understand the difficulties we face in trying to safely co-ordinate the many different aspects of the return to all activities.
Please continue to bear with us.
Thank you for your patience.
